Best Friends Forever #IAN1 #IARTG

We all have that one best friend. The person we can tell anything to. Some of us are fortunate enough to have more than one. I have three women and my husband that I call my best friends.

My husband and I are highschool sweethearts. We’ve been together 20 years now and I wouldn’t change a single thing. I come home after a long day and tell my husband about my day. We discuss our hopes and dreams. We raise our children together and hopefully one day we’ll grow old together.

I have a friend that I’ve known since I was three years old. She lives in Ohio with her wonderful husband and I see her twice a year if I’m lucky. I miss her terribly. But everytime we’re together it’s like we were never apart.

My best friend from college was in my wedding and I was in IMG_6880hers. She lives less than 2 hours away in the same college town where we spent our four years of school. Other than a husband and three kids nothing has changed between us. We talk, laugh, and shop everytime we see each other.  Our kids play together and we both think its super cute when my daughter and her son hug on one another.

The last woman to enter my life is my best friend from pharmacy school. Our relationship was a little strained when we first met. I was the IMG_2420“annoying question girl” in class and I was sure she didn’t like me. Once that was sorted out we quickly became two peas in a pod. We often tell eachother “your my person” because we just get one another, nothing is out of bounds with her.

I wanted to talk briefly about my best friends today because of the dedication in my newest set of books Dragons of the North. Its dedicated to the last friend I mentioned Crystal. She has had a rough go finding her best friend when it comes to spouses. I saw a meme somewhere, that said something like “Best friend, I hope you find someone who love you like I do”. The idea idea combined with, dragon shifters, and Crystal resulting in my dragon series. It was a labor of love and the audience was only ever intended to be one person. I only wanted to show her that there was always hope of finding the one perfect guy for you and cheer her up a little in the process.

Sometimes we pick our friends and sometimes they pick us, but there is always a reason we call them a friend.
